HBO Max, #TheIronAnniversary
To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the premiere of Game of Thrones, we wanted to do something special for fans. HBO Max had just enabled users to upload custom avatars to their HBO Max user profiles - so we thought it would be fun to put fans in Westeros and give them their own custom-drawn GoT avatar.
It started with a tweet, asking fans to send us a selfie.
It’s the #IronAnniversary and I’m making @GameOfThrones avatars — who wants one? Reply with a selfie and I might make you a new Westeros-style avi.

Then we got to work. Using a team of illustrators, we quickly created over 60 custom avatars that put fans in the show using different GoT character profiles.
